BACKGROUND

Established in 1958, Laung Kaing Branched High School faced challenges due to shared facilities with primary level students and temporary occupation of nearby monastic buildings. This arrangement led to overcrowded classrooms and lacked a permanent learning space for students and teachers. Recognizing the need for improvement, the community generously donated land for the construction of a new high school building.

OUTCOMES

A new two-storey school building with eight fully-furnished classrooms was built. A quality learning environment for these students will incentivise them to continue and finish their education. The project also included six new toilets that would improve sanitation standards and prevent hygiene-related illnesses.
