BACKGROUND

Ek Phnom Primary School was originally built in 1983, made out of wood with a tile roof and concrete floor. Flooding and general wear and tear had deteriorated the building over time. Three of the classrooms could not be used during heavy winds and rain and the other classroom was deemed too unsafe to use at all.

OUTCOMES

In 2018, Classroom of Hope and our local NGO partner, Children’s Action for Development (CAD), tore down the old building and built 4 safe new classrooms and 2 new toilets. The building was constructed to the standards set by the Ministry of Education.
