Laos

As one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world and in the region, infrastructure in Laos remains rudimentary and basic, especially in rural Laos.  The majority of the communities living in extremely remote and isolated areas continue to work as self-subsistent farmers. Due to poor roads and infrastructure, these communities often lack much needed support to develop themselves.

Access to Education

Every child deserves access to quality education and a safe and secure learning environment is essential for educational success. It has been proven that education is one of the most important factors in eradicating poverty. Education is the building block of every society and we believe education is a fundamental human right, not a privilege of few.

"The school building is only one component that contributes to strengthening the education system in Laos. The harder part is ensuring that the building will continue to serve quality education for the children in the community and produce good citizens for the country."

Charuwan Phaisantham (Tai) – Country Director Laos – Child’s Dream
